Kayla has been dancing since she could walk, but has been training formally for over 20 years. She was a Davis High D'ette throughout high school & has choreographed and coached for Davis and other Utah high schools since she graduated. She began teaching dance when she was 18 years old and quickly realized that her passion in life was teaching this art form to younger generations. She understands the power and impact that dance lessons have on young children and knew she needed to start a dance studio that emphasized the positivity, safety, and love that dancing helps children to feel and cultivate. She created Ardour Dance Centre in 2013 as a result and has owned and directed it ever since. Kayla has her Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and is a certified physical education teacher and yoga instructor. She has also been certified twice from the Pulse on Tour's dance teacher workshop in NYC. She also is a mommy to 3 beautiful girls, and a wife to her junior high sweetheart.

Teaching is something I was meant to do my whole life. I began teaching my first class as a swim instructor at age 12. I then moved to instructing gymnastics followed by swimming stroke coach, and water safety instructor. I then took up instructing tumbling followed by weight training, bodybuilding and powerlifting. I also became a preschool and physical education instructor and substitute teacher with over 10 years’ experience. I owned my own Tumbling Studio/Weight Gym and taught to the military children on the days I was not in my studio for more than 20 years. My style of teaching is very individual even in a class setting. Teaching body position and proper muscle use in a progressive style with each skill building on the next. I improve their skills through building self-confidence using a positive class environment that promotes thinking and problem solving. Most of all, I love what I do and love to see them grow through confidence.
